20 Photos Prove Why You Should NEVER Trust What You See On Instagram

We all know that many people’s Instagram snaps are usually the result of angles, lighting, perfect make-up and lots of filtering. But now a set of hilarious before and after photos has revealed just how little you can trust the supposedly perfect images you see portrayed on social media.

Bored Panda has shared a selection of the best images from the Reddit thread PrettyGirlsUglyFaces, where women from around the world share their best and worst selfies with the aim of looking as bad as possible. Not only will you be astounded at the difference in their snaps, but they will certainly make you think twice before believing everything you see on Instagram in the future.

Instagram VS. Real- Life Motherhood

Reminds me of childhood memories Where everything Was as fresh as the bright blue sky Now and then when I see her face It takes me away to that special place And if I stared too long I’d probably break down and cry Sweet child o’ mine Sweet love of mine

Photo Shopped 4-Year-Old Daughter’S Nose And Butt

I think of the old photo albums with childhood pictures of me and what it would feel like if my mum had retouched them and changed my body shape because I wasn’t good enough naturally. She’s a little kid for christ’s sake.

Negin Mirsalehi

We all hear about photoshop, we all know, but we don’t truly know. Just how much. Honestly, no wonder women are so confused about how they “should” look like.

Melania Trump’s Official White House Portrait

She looks good on the right!!! I was used to seeing more images similar to the left of Melania. Smile lines are cute, pores are nice, and not having bright white in ones eyes is good. Photoshop takes away most of the physical characteristics that make someone unique because they’re confused as flaws

Excellent example of how these girls are setting themselves up for failure in the future. Ramsey looks weird as hell face-tuned because we all know and recognize his lined face as him, whereas Kris looks weird without it because the face the public is used to seeing is the half-blurred one.

Profile Pic VS Tagged Pic

I can’t help but wonder how these people feel when they meet other people IRL. Like… They can’t possibly believe they’ll never cross paths with somebody who’s seen their photos?

Khloe Kardashian Same Day (POSTED VS TAGGED)

Her whole Instagram is a totally different person than her in real life. She’s really overdoing it on the lips 🙁

What’s Wrong With Her Top Lip?

So much of Instagram makeup like extreme highlight and contour only looks good at certain, specific angles. Know how to work the angles and you’re golden! Otherwise, it’s like optical illusion sidewalk art when you see it from the wrong angle.
